In the dance piece, Without Care, we tried to capture both the strength and vulnerability of women who are caretakers, especially mothers, by presenting them as if they were in the middle of getting dressed/undressed.  With the rougher texture of the embroidered linen and the dated style of bloomers, we presented a sense of agelessness of their care.  This was echoed by the movement of the dancers who ritualized  the repetitive gestures of a mother: shaking out and folding laundry, embraces, caressing aching joints.  Dancers traded positions of the caretaker and the cared-for, and visually, the role of caretaker became cyclical, passed from woman to woman.
